Historically, the development and maintenance of natural language applicationshas been notoriously difficult. Inference Communications has pioneered a new approach known as "grammatical inference" which dramatically reduces the cost and complexity associated with building and maintaining natural language speech applications.
By using a grammatical inference approach to application development it is possible to develop interactive prototype natural language systems in hours, allowing all stakeholders to interact with a solution without the investment of significant time or money. Prototype systems can then be refined, through the provision of further training data, and built into full commercial grade applications.

Using Talkback, developers can build a natural language application including the call flow (VoiceXML) and Grammar files (e.g. JSGF). Talkback provides a wide variety of deployment options and has been designed for use in either a stand alone environment for premise based speech applications development, or out-of-the-box environment in conjunction with leading hosting providers.
